Made from PCR: Plastic is currently filling landfills and forming entire islands in our oceans. Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic keeps waste out of the landfill and reuses it into useful items, like laptops. From the screen frame to the front and bottom cover, 30% of the Acer Aspire Vero Laptop is made from PCR, with 50% keystrokes.
Solid design: The Aspire Vero is durable and built to the same standards as other Acer laptops. The laptop’s attractive finish isn’t just eco-friendly, it looks one too, in the best possible way.
Green, but powerful: In many cases, durable products usually mean that similarly priced laptops will lack specs. But 11th Gen Intel Core processors and Iris Xe Graphics 3 offer plenty of scope for productivity, collaboration, and even gaming. A 15.6-inch FHD display shines with the best of them. Optimized audio: Acer TrueHarmony and Acer PurifiedVoice deliver some of the best sound experiences in modern laptops. Using a high-quality magnet producing high magnetic flux, TrueHarmony delivers rich, lifelike sound you can practically feel with stronger highs and deeper lows. Aspire Vero is also PurifiedVoice ready, so your laptop will respond to voice commands quickly and easily.
Fully scalable: Far too often, tech companies forbid you to mess with the innards of your computers, especially when it comes to upgrading your specs. Acer Aspire Vero not only lets you increase your specs, but it encourages you to do so with common standardized screws for easy access. Learn more about the best laptops.
Using the Acer Aspire Vero
If you close your eyes, it’s hard to tell you’re using an eco-friendly computer. Windows 11 boots as fast as it did on my gaming laptop, if not a second or two faster. If you open your eyes, it becomes very clear that you are using an environmentally friendly computer. That’s not a bad thing, there’s an immediate charm to the base of the laptop proudly showing off its genuine PCRs with a stamp reading “Post Consumer Recycled” on the bottom right of the surface under the keyboard. A more subtle design choice are the left-facing “R” and “E” keys, reinforcing Aspire Vero’s goal of “recycle, reduce, and reuse.” The speckled pattern along the panels of the laptop is both eco-friendly. The surface has a tactile feel made up of tiny honeycomb columns, which is a world away from the matte and glossy finishes of other laptops. (Acer also offers a guide to recycling laptops.)
The Acer Aspire Vero’s powerful processor and graphics card allow it to do everything you could want in a laptop in this price range: it’s perfect for media creation, 4K streaming, and even some light hardcore gaming. . Running in performance mode sometimes triggers a powerful fan, and you can expect the battery to drain after a few hours depending on how many apps you’re running simultaneously. Similar-priced laptops won’t struggle as much and may have better specs, but they’re still a solid workhorse, especially for a home office. Save more energy at home with the best solar panels.
But what sets Acer Aspire Vero apart is the built-in VeroSense software, which lets you choose between four different performance modes to further extend battery life, efficiency, and even your overall carbon footprint. Best of all, it’s easy to switch between modes at will. Even the packaging is made from recycled materials, with a reusable cardboard backing. With Earth Day around the corner, it’s easy to recommend one of the most durable laptops ever, especially because it can revamp your tech the moment it starts to feel outdated.
